Days are just fleeting past us and darn, we're like nowhere as far as packing is concerned. For the past few days we've practically lived in malls and shopped our asses off. The kitchen's offically closing down probably by tonight, and this afternon Raina and family had invited us for lunch - they wanted to give me a farewell party! Ah, now wasn't that really sweet of 'em?

The other day we, that's my family and Gatha's family, went to watch Dasavathaaram. And, my oh my, I'm completely at loss of words to describe the movie. Really. What was expected to be a "milestone in Indian cinema" turned out to be a massive disaster. So what's wrong with this movie, you ask? In one word - lots! An exclusive amalgam of poor story, sub standard dialogues, ghastly make-up and ear-damaging music (thanks to Himesh Reshammiya, though this time he spared us his "oooooooooo"s, phew!) just about sums it up. It's astonishing how somebody like Kamal Hassan can hurl this piece of muck on us and expect us to sing hymns glorifying him, I mean, just what was he thinking?
True, that Kamal had put in a lot of effort in fleshing out ten characters, but it actually looked more or less like he concieved most of those just for the sake of living up to the name of the movie, Dasavathaaram - The 10 avataars. The only commendable aspect of the movie is the technical part, with all those special effects, especially the few during the tsunami scenes. Mallika Sherawat was not required at all. She was awful, as always, especially in the pole-dancing song. All in all, it was a pathetic movie, with zero entertainment value. In fact, the whole three hours and fifteen minutes (!) was a torture, and I find it impossibly hard to digest the fact that Gatha ACTUALLY thought of it as a "pretty good" movie.

Mits had popped in to visit me in the evening and she took me to Good Look and bought this awesome anarkali for me, which both of us were so in love with at first sight. I have this habit, it's like if I really like something, like for example as you all know, striped Tshirts, I buy a tonne load of it and dump it in my wardrobe. Anyway, Mits and I had loadsa fun roaming around malls, running behind taxis, getting on and off buses and finally munching yummy pizzas. And don't I just love those garlic breads they serve at Pizza hut!
Oh well, I guess I gotta bounce now. There's a lot to do and there's hardly any time. Catch you later!

Ah, so everyone's been saying that the Dasavatharaam movie was bad. Must've been. Sad though. And WHY DID KAMAL HASSAN TAKE HIMESH AS THE MUSIC DIRECTOR?! WHY?!
I didn't even know that. He's always taken good people, preferably Rahman. And now, Himesh? Sad. And Mallika Sherawat, well, she should act only with Emraan Hashmi. They suit each other.
And Pizza Hut has the best garlic bread on the planet, I totally agree. Dominos doesn't even come close. But Pizza Hut has astronomical prices when you compare it to Dominos.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams, I love that song. I've sang it so many times with my friend in our Chemistry class. Everyone would shout when the teacher would go out and we'd sing. We even wrote a Hindi version of it titled "Toote Sapno ka Chauraaha". Remind me to make you read that some day.
been reading similar reviews of this movie.
@ish: Really! And as if picking Himesh as the music director wasn't enough, Kamal's going around screaming that Himesh's done an "incredible job". I guess the guy has totally lost it or something. He must've, or else such a movie would never have seen the light of day.
I agree with you yaar, Mallika should seriously consider getting back to Emraan:D
It's been ages since I've eaten a Dominos pizza. We don't get em here in Dubai, you see!
Ooohh, you guys actually translated that song? Hey, why don't you put that up in ur blog, Ish!! Would love to read it:)
@arunima: I'm not surprised! I suppose even die-hard Kamal Hassan fans would have the same thing to say!
