The Tandem Reunion and Tushar!

Sometimes, all it takes you is a second, to know a person. And sometimes, even after being with one for years, deciphering their “mind code” would still seem a faraway dream. So much, that even a lifetime seems too short a period to you.

These words kept echoing in my mind right from the time I’ve been up. So, I thought of putting it up and probably try to figure out the exact reason that triggered the thought. But I guess some thoughts just don’t have any roots. This could probably be another of those seedless ones that sprout in my head occasionally, delving into my mind and keeping me haunted through out the day. Boy, they sure do freak me out at times!

Anywaysssss, back to business!

Evy, Berry, Gatha, Kitty and I had a Tandem Reunion yesterday! Evy got her driving license and treated us at Pizza Hut. Not again, you say! Well, what else do you do when you have a bunch of buddies who go bananas over pizzas! Evy flew to India for writing her entrance test and voila, she’s back passing her driving test. Just how cool is that?

She’s got her nose pierced, and I must add that the tiny diamond nose stud, as microscopic as it is, looks perfectly cute on her. I have those artificial disc type ones, and even those tiny magnetic ones, but of course, nothing like the originals! And mom wouldn’t let me wear the magnetic ones, anyway. The other day, she was all like, “What if it gets stuck inside your nose? It’s a foreign body!” Yeah right, that’s just too ridiculous! The inside-the-nose thingy, I mean. And by the way, mom, incase you had no idea, they are made in India, hence desi bodies: P

Coming back to Evy, it was absolutely great meeting her after two whole months! She was just as bubbly as ever. Meeting her was like undergoing a one dimensional elastic collision. It was like, initially I was this isolated stationary body and she was this moving body. And there she came, rolling towards me, imparting a fraction of her momentum (liveliness) and kinetic energy (effervescence) to me! I’m sure Gatha, Berry and Kitty would totally agree with me. Okay, that’s like the first time in two months I’m talking physics!

We had a helluva time, quite a ball, actually! Infact we had so much of fun, that it almost felt like we were doing something illegal. No no no, don’t get me wrong, you know what I mean yeah? We were just talking aloud and commenting on fellow pizza eaters. It was the same kinda weird pleasure I used to derive by scribbling on the walls as a toddler, stealthily scampering out with Mira to the Arcades as a kid and bunking my insti classes with Shell-shock for company, at the moment (ahem, that had happened only once, though!)

Well, seems like everybody’s into writing these days. Gatha’s gonna start writing her life story soon. She had borrowed Anything for You Ma’am from me the other day, and apparently seemed to have drawn inspiration from Tushar’s writing skills. She was like, “If that guy can create a whole book out of his trip to Chennai, to meet his lady love, why not me?” Okay, now that’s one Herculean task as far as she’s concerned, taking into consideration the fact that this is officially gonna be her first, but let’s wait and watch!

Talking about Tushar reminds me of those days when I used to be madly obsessed with him. I had almost got a chance to see him with my own two eyes. But hard luck, things didn’t really work out. Over a year back, we had gone to Delhi for Mom’s book launch and that was when I had just finished reading his book. And suddenly the publisher guy was like, “Tushar Raheja would be coming for the launch!” And that was it, I was flat for the rest of the day. But unfortunately, he didn’t show up due to some urgent engagements, which later he told me on Orkut, was his relative’s marriage or something like that! Getting a scrap from him on Orkut was like a dream come true for me! Ah, all thanks to mom!

The happiness lasted for over a month, until the day I found out that I was no longer able to view his profile. Yep, he had quit Orkut. And being his crazy, loyal fan, it was pretty natural of me to follow his footsteps, and so that was the end of Orkut for me as well. Well well , some female I was! Trust me, my eleventh grade wouldn’t even have been half as bad as it was, if it wasn’t for my impromptu hormonal surges!

On a different track, okay, this is weird, but Gatha cracks up each time she sees me run, and according to her, I uncannily resemble Kate Bosworth when I do so!

And yeah, before I roar off, I would like you guys to recommend some good movies (both English and Hindi) for me to watch. Got just a couple of weeks more to go in this ‘city that never sleeps’:)! Well, That’s what I call Dubai!
