It never ceases to astound me how complacent I can be, sometimes, when it comes to posting. Not that there isn’t anything much to write on. As a matter of fact, there’s been a lot going on with me during the past one week, but sadly it’s only once in two weeks I’m able to access the net. Actually no, I do visit the college net café atleast twice a week, but blogging while having the seniors within a considerably sparse radius of me is entirely out of question. Oh Puhleez, the last thing I want is to have them stalking and roving around in my space. As if they are not causing enough havoc in our lives. No sir, no, I might be a dolt, but not as much a dolt as you suppose.
Mom’s come down to spend her five-day Eid vacation with me. Sadly, I’m getting only three days off, but then of course something is better than nothing, right? Meanwhile, things have brightened up and I have perked up, a little, no, make that a lot, over the last two weeks and I’m more than exhilarated to label this post as a crib-free one. Yep, you may applaud for me now. Talking about applause reminds me, the other day Tess Chechi suddenly took it into her mind to distribute blog awards to a bunch of bloggers, and blimey, I’m actually one of them. Isn’t that like, awesome? Thanks chechi , I’m like beyond honoured!

*takes the million dollar cheque leaf, holds it up, looks at it ardently and says*
“Kitni shiddat se tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai.. Ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai. Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho to saari kayanath tumhe usse milane ki koshish me lag jaati hai..”
Ok, I don’t exactly remember the rest, but thanks a ton, chechi! Gotta love you, totally.
Now that I’ve digressed as much as possible let me get back to what I was originally talking about. So, yeah, like I was saying, college is no longer a nightmare and neither is hostel a torture.. Gone are those days when I used to spend days and nights weeping and brooding. I thought I’d never get over that homesickness of mine, but surprisingly I have, to quite an extent, and believe it or not, I’m actually starting to enjoy it all. Some days we stay up till 2 in the morning, and that’s when we have some real fun. So far I’ve only read about midnight feasts in Enid Blyton books. Remember Darrel and her friends of Mallory Towers? It’s one thing reading them, but actually experiencing one is something entirely distinct, it is like living a dream or something.
The other day we, that is me, Squeaky, Cheeky, Giggly and Bubbly had a pillow fight in our room and actually ended up tearing most of the pillow covers. I never knew tossing pillows at people could actually turn into some sort of a bliss-derivable activity. Believe me, nobody’s ever seen me so wild before. Some of the pillows happened to hit the fan and voila, there sprinkled dust , dirt flakes and what not from the blades of the fan right onto the center of Squeaky’s bed. And that made her go totally mad, after which she emptied this whole bottle of Bisleri all over us. Quite coincidentally, the nuns chose exactly the same moment to walk in for their regular inspection and oh yeah, we actually happened to have “Pappu can’t Dance” on full volume, and then don’t even ask me what happened after that. They took the wind out of our sails, but all the same that was one mast din, if you ask me. Yep, totally.
On another track, I’ve always been complaining about how none of the boys in our class talk to us, or even look at us for that matter. In fact I even went to the extreme extent of thinking that they were a bunch of homos. Anyway, much to my relief, they didn’t turn out to be so. At least Soda Glass is not one, I’m sure. Talking about Soda Glass, he’s one crack pot, who keeps flooding my mob’s inbox with sappy messages every now and then. This was one of the first ones he send me:
“A raindrop may be too small to one’s eye, but somewhere a flower awaits its fall. A message may seem too small to you, but somewhere a heart remembers you. Goodnight and sweet dreams, my dear friend!”
I was all like, “Okay, who the hell is this now?” and that’s when Squeaky comes and tells me that it’s her classmate. Meanwhile, Soda Glass sent one on Cheeky’s cell too. This was how it went.
Soda Glass: Hey Cheeky! I badly want Mahi’s friendship. I hope she won’t say no. I swear, it’s JUST friendship. Nothing more. Please let me run an underground cable line in peace.
Cheeky: If you try to run an underground cable, then I’ll run an overhead transmission line above it.
Soda Glass (on my cell): What’s the current status?
Me: 220 V, DO NOT TOUCH!
Soda Glass: Please? Just friends.
Me: Whatever
From then, he regularly messages me on my cell, though I don’t reply most of the time. He’s a little too sappy at times, but still, nice and all.
Oh and I completely forgot, Eid Mubarak to all of you out there! I was out the whole day shopping. Tomorrow’s my baby cousin’s baptism, you see.
Well, that’s it for now. Catch ya all later! Adios!

Good Lord!!!pillow fights in college!!!wat the hell are are u females gonna do next??!!, sweetheart,i just got out of college and ur already making me feel antiquated.
i never expected college to ever be described with relation to "Malory Towers", though from ur blog u ppl remind me of a bunch of Wilhelminas(bill), wat happened, no jean or alicia types???
u seriously thought that the guys were homos,maan.. wat a thought.. its the beginning of the year yaar.. its the time when guys rate gals.. dont ask me y, and dont tell me it aint happening on ur side of the fence either, atleast with some of the femmes in ur hostel.. it just happens.. one of the gr8 mysteries of life (in ur words of course) ;-)
soda glass guy seems to be quite interesting..seemingly desperate for attention [or] are u sure he aint homo, u were always a little tomboyish hehe .. u sure he's got the right impression of u.. buhahaha(dramatic hellish laugh), kool.. and u were the one who was complaining that the mallu boys aint talking.. hahaha.
wats with all the electricity references in ur sms's maan??!! u guys just in S1-S2 and ur already with the engg. jargon.. sheesh maan, u gals seriously do catch on quick..
though it is intersting to know that u guys have regular interactions with ur nuns at 2 in the morning..i can understand u guys awake at that time, but wat in the world are they doing awake at that time!! nuns!! never did get along with their line of thought.. that is since the time they did threaten me with a day in the "dark room" for stealing (allegedly)their chocolates.. ;-)
maan.. it is quite refreshing to read ur blogs mydear.. kudos kiddo,u mite just turn out to be a chip of the old block.. much better infact, very much better..
cya..
Its a nice post.
:)
Firstly, ied mubarak
:)
I love Enid Blyton's books, but none so much as the famous five series, and the tales of ancient greece.
And coming to ur soda glass guy,
Plz restrain from calling him that,
Its derogatory, and It pinches me coz i've got glasses myself.
:(
And he seems to be the only courageous guy in ur class, hence must be deserving of ur friendship.
:)
